Running off at the keyboard…

Couple of things to share, so this truly is a ‘random musing’…
The week starts anew today. I spent about 3 hours this morning, yes Sunday morning, getting my first of 2 computer labs going at school. I still don’t have keys to any of the rooms/buildings, but thanks to my kind AP who let me borrow her key. It allowed me for the first time this year to feel like “I’m ahead” of the game. All that leaves now is getting teachers their student laptop workstations. That’s an easy accomplishment this week when we get back to school.
Wanted to share this link to Dennis Grice’s Tech4Teachers blog. I still talk in awe and reverence my time spent on the Carnival Fun Ship Sensation with my DEN Friends. It’s hard to believe that it has been almost 2 months since that awesome experience. Dennis was one of the DEN STAR educators that was on the cruise with me. His group (Dennis, Howard, Marty, Dave and Chris) put together what I thought was the best of the best of the projects our groups were tasked with completing. They put together a Science Based Dating Game Video.
Speaking of Dennis…he introduced me to another great tool that I truly cannot believe that I’d not seen before. Senduit.com is the site. Dennis sent me a 22mb copy of the Dating Game video his group made. I was worried about giving him access rights to my wiki, or finding a FTP site that we could use…When he said, “Tom, don’t worry about it. I’ve got it covered.” I know now what he meant by that.
Mega Props to you Dennis from the Seeking the Wisdom of the Ages staff, we 1 thank you…
Seeking the Wisdom of the Ages…
Tom.

Steve Dembo (who else?) is the one first brought senduit.com to my attention when he suggested I useit to send him a file as an alternative to a large e-mail attachment. Since I’m not really sure what they actually do with my file (who reads those terms of service?) I don’t know if I’d use something like this to send personal information or files with sensitive data, but it sure is handy for sending large presentations and videos.
Why would I not have guessed that it originally came from Dem-boh himself??? All the same…thanks for learning me something this weekend.
