Google Maps - 360 Views

Well…just when I didn’t think Google Maps couldn’t get any cooler, they bring 360degree streetviews. I’ve been slowly trudging through the well over 200 downloaded feeds over the past few days that I hadn’t had a chance to peruse, thanks to Tech Crunch as always for giving out great information on startups and additions to already established softwares.

I really couldn’t believe my eyes when I was reading about this. So I of course had to run over to Google Maps to see for myself. Have to be honest with everyone here, I’m having a hard time concentrating on getting this post completed! I keep wanting to go back and look at street level views on the maps.

As it looks now though, there are only 5 cities available with the 360 street views: San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver, New York and Miami. I’m still trying to wrack my brain to figure out integration methods for this, but the first thing that comes to mind are the common virtual field trips and writing prompts. An easy way to work with students in using descriptive words expressively.

For now, I think I’m going to head back over and look some more at Las Vegas. Having visited there for the first time a few years back, I’m still intrigued by the city itself.

As always, I’m…

Seeking the Wisdom of the Ages…

Tom.
